Genesis (NASP) Bows

The Genesis bow is the official bow of the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP). Its single-cam design uses zero let-off, which means the archer holds full draw weight at anchor. This builds proper shooting form from the start. A universal draw length range lets any student pick up the bow and shoot without custom fitting or adjustments.

At Adventures Archery, we carry Genesis Archery products, including the Genesis Original and Mini Genesis in bow-only and kit options. Both models are available in right and left-hand versions and come in multiple bow color choices. Visit our Tampa and Lakeland archery shops to see them in person.

Genesis Bow Features and Design

Zero Let-Off Design

Zero let-off is part of the Genesis design used for NASP equipment standardization. The archer holds the full draw weight through the entire shot cycle. This teaches consistent anchor points and clean releases without relying on a mechanical wall to hold weight for you.

Universal Draw Length

The Original covers a 15 to 30 inch draw length range. The Mini covers 14 to 25 inches. No draw length modules or bow press adjustments are needed. One bow fits an entire classroom of students of different sizes and works as archers grow.

Durability and Construction

Genesis bows use an aluminum riser and composite limbs built for daily use in school programs and outdoor shooting environments like ranges and field setups. The Original weighs 3.5 lbs. The Mini weighs 2 lbs. Both handle the wear of shared equipment across dozens of archers without losing performance.

Genesis Bow vs. Other Youth Bows

A Genesis is a compound bow, but the zero let-off sets it apart from standard youth compound bows that use let-off and require specific draw length settings. Those bows need adjustments as a young archer grows. Youth recurve bows are simpler but lack the cam system entirely.

The Genesis sits between the two. It offers the mechanical advantage of a compound with the form-building benefits of holding full draw weight. It's ideal for beginners, recreational shooters, and target archers starting their archery journey. The Genesis is also the official bow used in NASP competitions.

Genesis Models We Carry

Genesis Original (35 1/2")

The standard model used in NASP tournaments and school archery programs. Adjustable draw weight from 10 to 20 lbs with a 15 to 30 inch draw length range. Available as a bow-only or bow with kit.

Genesis Mini (29 1/2")

A shorter, lighter option for smaller or younger archers who need an easier draw. Adjustable draw weight from 6 to 12 lbs with a 14 to 25 inch draw length range. Available as a bow-only or bow with kit.

Bow-Only vs. Kit Options

Bow-only includes just the Genesis compound bow. Kit options add a tube quiver with arrow holders, arm guard, and five Easton XX75 arrows. Kits work well for families or programs buying a complete setup at once. Bow-only is the way to go if you already have accessories. We also carry a bow case for storage and transport.

How to Choose the Right Genesis Bow

Match the model to the archer's size. The Mini suits smaller or younger beginners with its lighter draw weight and shorter draw length range. The Original fits a wider range and works for older students, teens, and adults.

Decide between bow-only and the kit. Kits ship with arrows, a quiver, and an arm guard. Bow-only works if you want to choose your own gear or already have what you need.

Check hand orientation. Both models come in right-hand and left-hand configurations.

Genesis Bow FAQs

NASP stands for the National Archery in the Schools Program. It is an in-school archery curriculum used in schools across the United States. The Genesis is the approved bow for NASP competitions and classroom instruction. Check NASP rules for specific tournament equipment requirements.

Yes. The Original's 15 to 30 inch draw length range and 10 to 20 lb draw weight accommodate most adults. It is popular with recreational target archers and families who share one bow.

NASP specifies the Easton XX75 Genesis 1820 as the approved arrow for tournament competition. Confirm that the nock and point specs match your setup. These aluminum arrows are available in our Genesis (NASP) arrows collection.

Yes. The stock string works well for general use, but a Genesis bow string replacement is available if yours wears out. Some archers upgrade to a custom bow string or custom string from an aftermarket builder. Genesis strings are also sold through the manufacturer. There are no manufacturer restrictions on replacing the string, but NASP competitions may have specific string requirements, so check NASP rules for any string modifications.
